Sibling registration runs from January 26th through February 5th from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Bid for Kids Auction 2010:
The Cougar Ed Board is pleased to announce that Lori Luotto, Carrie Shapiro and Emily Wetmore, along with Shelley Clark as an experienced advisor, will co-chair Bid for Kids 2010.  Mark your calendars for March 27th, 2010 with a “Casino Royale” party at Round Hill Country Club.  Volunteers make this event a success and we need your help!  Come learn more about the auction and the many (big and small) ways that you can help out.  We’ll find a job that fits your interests and your availability.  Bring friends and learn more on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the Teacher’s Lounge (or contact any of the auction chairs). Thanks for your support!

Safe Pick-up After School:
Please help us ensure that all students remain safe after school by picking up students in the following ways:

  • Parents on foot: Pick up your child on the blacktop near the picnic tables.
  • Via car: Students should wait seated in front of the library. The adult staff will assist students in loading in the cars. Please do not exit your car.

No students should be playing on the grass area in front of the school since it makes it impossible for our staff to monitor their safety.

Lost and Found:
from Pack 809: Please check the lost and found (in the MPR for lost items. Each trimester, unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

Flu Facts:
Flu symptoms are: Temperature (oral) of 100 degrees or higher, respiratory symptoms, sore throat. Flu is viral; every individual is affected differently. The school office staff will screen ill students and will send them home if they have a fever of 100 degrees or higher. Treatment is: rest, fluids, and fever-reducing medicines such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Please consider the following before sending your student to school: Use proper and frequent hand washing after sneezing, coughing, or using a Kleenex. Keep your children home for 24 hours after all symptoms, including fever, have subsided. Your child needs to be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine. The contagion cycle will only be broken when students are kept home from school for the duration of the illness. The Contra Costa Health Services has created an FAQ about the H1N1 virus. Click on the pdf file in the locker to the right.

Healthy Kids Birthday Celebrations:
In an effort to model healthy choices for our students, Baldwin will be celebrating student birthdays a little differently this year. Please do not send food treats for the class. Your teacher wil be giving you more information about birthday celebrations.

Avoid a parking ticket:
There is no parking on the east side of Brookside between Timberline and Brookside Ct. between 7:30-8:30 am and 2:00-3:30 pm. Cars parked in this area during these times will be ticketed.
